Icicles are covering our house, hanging in front of our old school awnings. I love them. We're back to the frigid temperatures (it was -12 this morning!) and I personally think nature's beauty is intended to help us get through the winter. #thebethadillychallenge
A little history; pink and purple used to be my two least favorite colors. Sometimes I think this is why I was blessed with boys, but once I began taking an interest in photography, I started to see these colors in a different way. Especially when newborn babies are involved. One day, many years ago, I decided to buy a pink shirt; probably for the first time ever. I believe it was a sweater, and everyone kept complimenting me and telling me it was my color. Somehow, my mother mentioned that pink should be incorporated into my wedding flowers and colors, and since it was April and spring was upon us, I agreed. This photo contains one of the flowers that was used for a decoration that I've placed in a basket with the dried flowers that my husband and son wore on our wedding day. I wasn't sure what I was going to do when I first saw the prompt this morning, but now I actually love this photo. I think it would be beautiful on a large canvas in my home. #thebethadillychallenge
I am thrilled that my youngest is starting to take an interest in helping. One day, he slowly started to become self-sufficient (sort of). :) If he wanted a drink, he would set the water pitcher on the counter. When he's done eating, his plate goes on the counter. He's making an effort to be helpful, and it is awesome. I love watching my children grow. Today, he wanted to help me bake in the kitchen, and got incredibly excited when I told him I actually had all of the ingredients to make Chex Puppy Chow. If you don't know what this is, it's chex cereal, mixed with chocolate and peanut butter, and then tossed in powdered sugar. He even did the stirring on the stove with my supervision and help, and he did a wonderful job. #thebethadillychallenge
Each day has definitely been a challenge. It seems the prompts aren't lining up with the days. Yesterday we were completely trapped in our homes, and today the roads were cleared, it was sunny, and absolutely beautiful! There was no staying home and being comfy today; we were comfy in the car, went to lunch, and then we stopped off to go sledding again, which is definitely our favorite winter activity. Calvin even took flight a few times. #thebethadillychallenge
We are currently having the biggest snowstorm of this winter. I started today's challenge by photographing what I was making for lunch. Homemade fries. My kids love them, but I hardly have time to make them, so since I was stranded, I thought, "why not?" They had chicken tenders to go with, in case anyone was wondering. I probably should have taken another photo after it was finished, but the kitchen was a disaster area. It seemed fitting to add this photo, too, since there is another table involved, and certainly represents today. Our lilac bushes are completely trampled, and we are hoping they survive. #thebethadillychallenge
